Understanding your stretch marks

Stretch marks, also called striae, can develop as skin stretches or shrinks, including after pregnancy, growth or weight changes. Newer marks may look red or purple; older marks often become paler.

Your assessment considers the age and appearance of the marks, the body area, your skin tone and your medical history. We will discuss whether treatment is suitable and what improvement may be realistic.

Our 2-Step Signature Treatment

Our established approach brings together CO₂ laser resurfacing and Virtue RF microneedling. Your clinician will explain how the options may fit your skin, including the order, intervals and whether both are appropriate for you.

CO₂ laser resurfacing

CO₂ laser treatment works on skin texture and encourages a healing response. For stretch marks, the aim is to make uneven texture and the marks themselves less noticeable.

Settings and treatment area are chosen after assessment. Laser resurfacing requires aftercare; redness, sensitivity and other risks should be discussed before you decide.

Virtue RF microneedling

Virtue RF combines fine needles with radiofrequency energy. It is used to encourage collagen remodelling and improve skin texture as part of an individually assessed plan.

Ask how it compares with laser treatment for your skin and stretch marks. The number of appointments, comfort measures and recovery guidance are personalised.

Find out which approach is suitable for your skin.

What your treatment plan should cover

  • Your skin and marks: their colour, texture, age, body area and your skin tone.
  • The right options: whether CO₂ laser, Virtue RF or a combined plan is appropriate.
  • Comfort and recovery: what to expect, possible side effects and aftercare.
  • Realistic improvement: a gradual response, not a promise of flawless skin.
  • Appointments and cost: a discussion of the proposed course before you commit.

Before you book treatment

Clear answers. A plan made for you.

01

Suitability first

Tell us about previous treatments, skin sensitivity, medicines, healing history and any pregnancy or breastfeeding. These details help the clinician advise you.

02

Costs and appointments

Ask for a clear quote covering the treatment area and proposed appointments. A starting price is not the same as the cost of a complete course.

03

Recovery and aftercare

Allow for recovery that matches the procedure and settings. Ask about skin care, sun protection and when to resume your usual routine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Stretch marks occur when the skin stretches or shrinks quickly, often due to pregnancy, weight fluctuations, or puberty.

  • CO2 Laser: Resurfaces skin and boosts collagen to fade stretch marks.
  • Virtue RF Microneedling: Enhances texture and firmness with radiofrequency energy.

Comfort varies by treatment, settings and individual sensitivity. Ask your clinician about numbing, likely sensations and how discomfort is managed.

There is no single course that suits everyone. Your clinician will discuss the likely number and spacing of sessions after assessing your marks, skin and response to treatment.

Recovery differs between CO₂ laser and RF microneedling and depends on the settings and area treated. Redness, swelling or sensitivity can occur. Follow your clinician’s advice rather than assuming a fixed number of days.

Treatment aims to improve the appearance of stretch marks; it cannot promise complete removal. The response varies, and further stretching of the skin can produce new marks.

No procedure is suitable for everyone. Your skin tone, pigmentation risk, healing history and medical circumstances are assessed before choosing a treatment and settings.
